Teaching Excellence Colleague Forum 2019

The Excellence in Teaching Colleague Forum is sponsored by The Resource Center and the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. The event, held March 2, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. brings together the region’s most capable and thoughtful Christian Educators for a one day forum based in evocative scholarship to wrestle with its implications for our work in faith formation across generations.

Dr. Israel Galindo will be our presenter for the 2019 colleague forum, offering insights around the topic, “The Seven Educational Concepts that Will Transform Your Teaching.” Preparation through reading/reflection will be shared upon registration. Dr. Galindo is Associate Dean for Lifelong Learning at Columbia Theological Seminary. He is author of the bestselling The Hidden Lives of Congregations and Leadership in Ministry: Bowen Theory in the Congregational Context as well as numerous other works. Among his books on teaching are The Craft of Christian Teaching and Theories of Learning. Non-refundable prepaid discounted early registration by February 15 is just $40 and includes breaks and lunch. After that, regular registration is $50. Scholarships and CEUs available. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Program starts at 9 a.m.

Participants are expected to be experienced Christian educators or pastors who bring their insight and experience to the forum – we will all learn from each other.
