Excellence in Teaching Colleague Forum 2015: January 24, 8 – 3   Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union

This is a brand new event for 2015! The Colleague Forum is designed for experienced educators who want to be in dialogue with noted scholars/authors and other experienced educators about the latest research in the field. Scheduled for Saturday, January 24 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and will be held on the campus of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. All attendees must apply to attend and advance preparation will be expected. A $75 registration fee covers materials, speaker, snack breaks, and lunch.

Vacation Bible School Curriculum Fair 2015: February 12, 13, 14           The Resource Center

Hosted February 13 and 14 with a special preview day on February 12, The Resource Center partners with COKESBURY to present VBS resources from denominational, cooperative, and independent publishers. A discount is offered on kits ordered at the Fair.

INCLUSION Concert 2015: date TBA

INCLUSION is a choir embodying the vision of The Resource Center. Singers are invited to join in this ecumenically inclusive choir festival held at a local church in the spring. Rehearsals take place at several times in order to increase participation. A love offering is taken to benefit the ministry of The Resource Center.

Teachers’ Toolbox 2015: date TBA                                                     Location TBA

Join with others from various denominations to explore new directions in Christian formation/education and hear about what some churches are learning as they join hands across the generations to make old practices new again – – together! Teachers’ Toolbox is held annually in late September/early October.

Excellence in Ministry Banquet 2014: Date TBA                            Greater Richmond Convention Center

This festive evening in November celebrates those who quietly and faithfully serve God and neighbor. The banquet also serves as a fundraising effort as proceeds benefit the ministry of The Resource Center.
